We got the opportunity to launch the first schoolbased FM transmission in Sri Lanka with the name of “Anada Handa” through the frequency of 96.1 FM in 1996. With the reputation of our FM transmission, we got great popularity among the school media clubs as the pioneer in transmissions.
Our club has taken steps to organize its first electronic day with the name “Kalathraya” in 1996 in connection to the annual All-Island Radio communication and Mass media quiz competition. “Kalathraya” was organized with the hope of introducing and giving knowledge about new technical inventions and skills to the school media and, now at present, it is the most advanced electronic Technology Day, conducted by a school in Sri Lanka.
In 2005, our club was able to clear a new path in the field of school mass media with the inception of the first-ever school-based TV transmission with the name of “Anada TV”. This was conducted for five days while covering the whole of Colombo and got the attention of all the schools of Colombo.

Through hard work and commitment, ACRC has become the most active and well-known society inside the school. Today, we are proud to claim that as the Radio Club of Ananda college, we have achieved a prominent status in the field of Radio technology and we are unmatched by any other media school units on the island, and our goal is to bring pride and glory to our Mother Ananda through our transmissions in the Audio-visual field.
